Removed the carpet, removed the pine treads, installed new oak treads and stained with dark walnut before sealing with three coats of polyurethane. Then we applied two coats of Emerald Urethane trim enamel from @sherwinwilliams

Without a proper cap, the top of your chimney probably looks like this.

We removed the existing crown and top flue, chipped out the old mortar and set in two new flues to raise the exposed height of the flue. We poured a new crown and installed a new metal cap to keep the rain and snow out.

I always say this will be our last roof but we just can’t help it. Outside of painting, framing, finish carpentry, flooring, doors and windows we just keep doing more roofs and by the end of the job we are always glad we did.

Maybe the next one will be the last one… but probably not!

Install the right flashing the right way. A little

Install the right flashing the right way. A little water damage over time can create huge problems. The sill plate on this side of the house was complete destroyed from water damage and termites.

We removed the siding, supported and lifted the wall, replaced the sill plate and sisters some joists before installing a new rim joist and wrapping everything back up.

Now the ledger is installed and ready for a proper deck.

The corner was also replaced before wrapping but we forgot to take a photo.

Fixing the others mistakes. These joists weren’t properly installed. We tightened them down with pipe clamps and secured them with 3” screws and rafter ties before adding new sister joists for additional strength.

Custom butcher block counter top install. The old counter top was two layers of wood and laminate. All of it was removed down to the built in cabinets.

The butcher block was cut, sanded, sealed, shimmed and fastened to the cabinets.

Installing the right product, the right way really matters. These replacement windows were boxed into the rough opening and wrapped in aluminum trim.

Water got in and rotted the sill and framing from the inside out.

We got everything opened, fixed the framing, installed proper new construction windows, flashed and sealed the window, and insulated with spray foam inside. Before trimming the outside in PVC board and replacing the interior trim.

Sometimes the smallest jobs turn into the biggest projects but we don’t give up. From diagnosing a small window leak to completely tearing off the entire side of this house. We removed the old clapboard siding and installed zip system wall sheathing before installing new wrap and reinstalling the windows (the right way).

Everything is back together and water tight. Quality from the ground up!
